DESCRIPTION:The 2022 Energy Code supports electrification to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Electric appliances such as heat pump water heaters\, heat pump space conditioners\, and induction cooktops are impacted by different aspects of the building code as well as planning and zoning. With increased incentives and reach codes driving toward electrification\, the projects submitted for permits may vary from previous business as usual upgrades. This class will focus on the energy and green building codes for residential as it relates to different electrification technologies.
