SUMMARY:Hot Water: Time to Tap
DESCRIPTION:Waiting one to two minutes for hot water is excruciating. Yet we don’t design our homes around this important goal of minimizing the time to get hot water at the tap. This intermediate level webinar covers the science of hot water distribution with guidelines to get Hot Water Time to Tap (TtT) down to 10 seconds\, 20 seconds flat. This webinar will cover architectural compactness\, pipe sizing\, strategies for recirculation loop systems\, and compare the energy efficiency of various systems. Participants will develop the capacity to specify faster TtT hot water systems that your clients will want to show off to their friends and neighbors. These TtT optimized systems are ideal for heat pump water heaters\, help with Title 24 compliance\, but most of all are a delight to live with.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Heating and Cooling Load Calculations for Electrification Projects
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar\, Judy Rachel will explain what a heating and cooling load calculation is and how it provides essential information for the successful implementation of electrification projects. Beyond providing the essential information for properly sizing a residence’s HVAC system\, the heating and cooling load calculation informs electrification project design and planning in significant ways. In addition\, this presentation will explore the business case for this important planning step within the construction process. \nAccurately calculating the heating and cooling loads for a building provides the information necessary to choose appropriately sized space conditioning equipment. When pursuing electrification using right sized\, typically\, lower capacity HVAC equipment you will frequently negate the need for panel upgrades which provides a significant advantage in electrification projects. This contributes significantly to reducing project costs\, while saving on energy consumption and ongoing costs to comfortably condition a given home.

SUMMARY:HPWHs: More Than One Brand In the Hand
DESCRIPTION:This webinar equips participants with the knowledge to make smart\, scenario specific choices when selecting heat pump water heaters (HPWHs). We’ll begin with a brief overview of why HPWH deployment is a state priority\, then explore the key factors that differentiate products\, such as noise levels\, ducting requirements\, physical location constraints\, electrical panel capacity\, and more. \nThe session concludes with an exercise exploring real world installation scenarios including garages\, basements\, indoor closets\, outdoor closets\, outdoor tankless replacements\, and attics. Attendees will learn to identify which HPWH models are best suited to each condition\, reinforcing the need for a multi-brand approach to successful system design.
