SUMMARY:Comprehensive HVAC Systems: AC\, HP\, and Refrigeration Training 8-part series
DESCRIPTION:This 8 part series will be held over four days from 6:00-8:15 pm PDT. Part 1 & 2: 5/5/2025 Part 3 & 4: 5/6/2025 Part 5 & 6: 5/12/2025 Part 7 & 8: 5/13/2025 CEUs: This course qualifies for a total of eight CEHs (continuing education hours) through North American Technician Excellence (NATE). Part 1 introduces air conditioning and heat pump systems\, focusing on the importance of equipment knowledge\, airflow\, and proper refrigerant charging for system performance. Part 2 explains thermodynamics and the refrigeration cycle\, highlighting heat absorption\, rejection\, and the roles of key components like the compressor and metering device. Part 3 covers metering devices in HVAC systems\, including capillary tubes and thermal expansion valves\, and the function of evaporator coils in refrigerant vaporization. Part 4 examines components like filter/driers\, reversing valves\, and suction line accumulators\, explaining their functions and maintenance best practices. Part 5 outlines steps for commissioning a new HVAC system\, stressing testing for proper operation and addressing issues from design flaws or faulty equipment. Part 6 discusses the importance of a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program to improve system performance and longevity. Part 7 focuses on refrigeration system service\, emphasizing preventative maintenance and minimizing system breaches to avoid contamination. Part 8 covers advanced refrigerant diagnosis techniques\, highlighting superheat and subcooling methods for optimal performance. Instructors: John Dalton & Michael D. Griffin
