SUMMARY:Boiler Basics for Energy Efficiency
DESCRIPTION:This safety & operation efficiency seminar compliments our “Boiler Water Treatment for Energy Efficiency” seminar. Owners and operators of boilers will receive an explanation of boiler controls\, interlock safeties and combustion air requirements. They will also be presented with techniques which may help improve boiler and distribution system operation as well as increased efficiency. Air quality and boiler operation guidelines will also be discussed.\n\nPaul Howland has over 50 years of experience in Boiler & HVAC systems operation and maintenance. After serving in the US Navy as a Boiler Technician\, he worked at many large central heating and refrigeration plants as a Steam Engineer and instrument technician and moved on to manage large factory automation projects Hewlett-Packard\, Beckman Instruments\, and Emerson Electric\, while attending college.  Beginning as Central Plant Manager\, Paul retired from the University of California\, Irvine after 22 years as Executive Director of Facilities Management and two years as Facilities Director at CSU Long Beach. Paul is currently an instructor for the Building Operator Certification (BOC) program and an instructor with UC Irvine Department of Continuing Education in the Facilities Management Certificate program. Paul is also the COE of Hydro-Convergent Technologies Inc providing energy and water conservation solutions. \n*Course qualifies for BOC maintenance of certification points toward BOC Level I or Level II credential.
