SUMMARY:Heat Pump Water Heater Permitting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a webinar highlighting best practices and strategies for simplifying and accelerating HPWH permitting processes. \n\n\nUnlike other types of water heaters\, many heat pump water heaters (HPWHs) require a permit to receive available incentives. The time and cost of permitting HPWHs can be a barrier to adoption. \nBut some jurisdictions are making the process easier and more efficient by allowing contractors to permit their HPWHs without waiting half a day for an inspector to arrive on site. Join AWHI as we explore HPWH permitting best practices\, including minor label permits with sticker systems and random inspections\, virtual inspections\, guides for inspectors\, and reduced permitting costs. Making HPWH permitting as convenient as possible will help accelerate adoption of this key technology while still ensuring quality installations and happy customers.

SUMMARY:ACCA Dry Climate Manual J and S with Wrightsoft (Part 1 of 3)
DESCRIPTION:Course description\n\n\n\n\n\nPart 1 of 3  \nThis full day webinar focuses on the unique residential loads and energy code encountered in the Dry Climate of California. The material covers the basic science behind ACCA Manual J load calculations and Manual S equipment selection. During this session\, a sample plan is entered into Wrightsoft first using the 1975 code\, since many homes meet these criteria it provides a touchstone for contractors in equipment sizing. The plan is then altered to meet the 2025 Energy Code. This allows attendees to compare the loads generated by Wrightsoft in Manual J and provides a practical opportunity the effect the energy code has on Equipment sizes. Manufacturer’s expanded product data sheets are reviewed\, and attendees are guided to use the correct qualifiers for California Code and Climate. Several examples are covered demonstrating the correct sizing procedure and differences in how charts and tables may look different but have the same information in an alternate format. ASHRAE 62.2 Residential ventilation requirements are reviewed and are incorporated into the Wrightsoft program. Internal loads are defined for the room-by-room design based on appliances and occupancy. \nGain hands-on experience with Wrightsoft using the free 30-day trial by downloading Right-Suite® Universal Demo here. \nAgenda: \n\nReview Manual J load calculation process\nReview Dry Climate Manual S equipment sizing steps\nWrightsoft software – hands-on session\nWrightsoft application – energy code comparison\nManufacturer data and equipment selection\nVentilation and internal loads\n\nThe objective of this course is that at the conclusion\, participants will be able to:   \n\nUnderstand and apply ACCA Manual J load calculations and Manual S equipment selection principles for residential applications\nUse Wrightsoft software to accurately model residential buildings load and determine proper system sizing\nInterpret manufacturer expanded product data to select HVAC equipment that meets California climate and code requirements\nIncorporate ASHRAE 62.2 ventilation standards and internal loads into room-by-room design for improved efficiency and comfort\n\nContinuing Education Credits: \nCABEC: 6\, NATE: 6
