Practical Fundamentals and Physical Properties of Air Distribution introduces air distribution fundamentals including key components and their functions, airflow mechanics and system design, air distribution tools and measurement techniques and impact of air noise, friction and pressure loss on system efficiency, and client comfort.

The objective of this course is that at the conclusion, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the key components of an air distribution system and explain their functions in HVAC performance
  • Define and apply the correct air velocity limits for residential and commercial ductwork to ensure efficient operation
  • Calculate target airflow rates based on cooling, heating and ventilation requirements and adjust accordingly
  • Recognize the impact of air noise, friction and pressure loss on system efficiency and client comfort
